Powder Coating

Powder coating, a dry surface finishing process used on a variety of surfaces, primarily metals. With finely ground particles of pigment and resin, then cured under heat to form a hard, durable layer for the purpose of protective and decorative.

The curing process of powder coating is a key step to ensure the quality and performance of the coating, and requires precise control of temperature and time to achieve the best coating effect.

Parts after powder coating will become harder, more durable, more uniform and have good protective properties.

Design Considerations

  • It is recommended to plug and mask threaded or reamed holes or other critical-to-function surfaces during this process.
  • In general, powder coating polymers are insulative and do not conduct electricity well. For applications requiring electrical insulation, the coating must have the appropriate dielectric properties.
  • Consider the color, texture, and finish of the coating to meet aesthetic requirements.
